LINE Official Account Pricing: Choosing a Plan Before the November 2026 Increase (2026)
LINE Official Account pricing has two parts: a fixed monthly fee plus message fees. This guide covers the new November 2026 rates, the trap of the Medium plan having no add-on messages, how to work out which plan you need, and the 27 October decision date.
LINE OA pricing is genuinely simple: a fixed monthly fee plus message fees above the free allowance. Costs run away almost entirely because people misunderstand how messages are counted.
Start with the urgent part. On 1 September 2026 LINE announced that the monthly fee for the Medium and High plans changes from 1 November.
The new plan table from November 2026
| Plan | Monthly fee (TWD, before tax) | Free messages per month | Add-on messages |
|---|---|---|---|
| Light plan | 0, unchanged | 200 | Not available |
| Medium plan | 800 → 1,000 | 3,000 | Not available, you have to upgrade to High to send more |
| High plan | 1,200 → 1,400 | 6,000 | Available, tiered |
The free message allowance stays the same on all three plans. The High plan add-on rate moves to two brackets:
| Add-on messages this month | Cost per message |
|---|---|
| Messages 1 to 50,000 | 0.2 |
| From message 50,001 | 0.15 |
The tiers are cumulative. Buy 60,000 add-on messages in a month and the first 50,000 are still 0.2 each, with only the final 10,000 at 0.15.
The 27 October date
The announcement is blunt about it: staying on a Medium or High plan after 27 October counts as accepting the increase. If you do not accept it, you have to switch down to the Light plan before 27 October.
There are also two maintenance windows in the same period, one from 8am on 28 October through 2 November, and one from 8am on 24 November through 25 November. During maintenance you cannot buy a new plan, upgrade, downgrade, or adjust your message cap.
If you intend to change plans, get it done before 27 October.
One more thing. If you pay by credit card on auto-renewal, add a secondary payment method in the console. When the primary card fails the system falls back to the second one, so a failed renewal does not interrupt your service.
Messages are counted per recipient
This is the one thing that decides which plan you need. LINE's pricing calculator asks for your target friend count and your number of broadcasts per month, and the two multiplied is what you consume.
One message sent to 3,000 friends burns 3,000 messages, not one.
What the free allowance actually buys, broadcasting to everyone
The Medium plan trap: no add-on messages
This is the easiest one to walk into. The Medium plan costs 1,000 a month and includes 3,000 messages, but you cannot buy messages above that. The only option is upgrading the whole plan to High.
A concrete case. You have 3,000 friends on the Medium plan and you want to send two campaign messages this month, which needs 6,000. Medium gives you 3,000 and no add-ons, so the second send does not happen unless you upgrade.
After upgrading, 1,400 a month includes 6,000, which just covers it. But if your friend count grows to 4,000, two sends a month is 8,000 messages, so you buy 2,000 add-ons at roughly 400.
The calculation for choosing a plan is: friend count × expected broadcasts per month, then compare that number against the free allowance.
If the number is 3,000 or under
- Under 200: Light plan, 0 per month
- Under 3,000: Medium plan, 1,000 per month
- Watch out: Medium has no add-ons, so going over means upgrading
If the number is over 3,000
- Go straight to High, 1,400 a month including 6,000
- Add-ons above that, tiered from 0.2
- Also go straight there if your friend count is still growing
Which messages are not billed
LINE publishes this list of free message types:
- Welcome messages for new friends
- One-on-one chat messages
- Auto-response messages
- AI auto-response messages
- Reply API messages through the Messaging API
Responding is free, pushing costs money. Run your official account as a service channel and your LINE message costs are close to zero. Bills blow up because someone broadcast to the entire friend list without filtering.
That leaves two effective ways to cut your LINE Official Account bill.
First, max out the half that costs nothing. Set up the welcome message, keyword auto-reply and Rich Menu, and every question they catch is a push you never have to send. How to do it is in LINE Auto-Reply Setup and the complete LINE Rich Menu guide.
Second, stop broadcasting to everyone every time. With 10,000 friends and four campaigns a month, sending to all of them is 40,000 messages at about 8,200. Segmenting down to the 3,000 relevant friends per campaign is 12,000 messages at about 2,600. That is 5,600 apart, with a lower block rate on top. The full calculation is in the complete LINE broadcast guide.
Working out your cost per message
You can only judge whether a push is worth sending once you know what one message actually costs you.
Cost per message ≈ total monthly cost ÷ billable messages that month
Take the High plan with 10,000 friends and four sends a month: about 8,200 in total cost, 40,000 messages consumed, roughly 0.2 per message. One broadcast to everyone is 2,000.
How much revenue a push has to bring back to be worth it is something you can answer yourself. Most people start segmenting the moment they run that number.
If your account consistently needs more than 70,000 messages a month, LINE has a separate partner programme offering message fee credits you can apply for, or you can ask your existing contact to assess it.
How our pricing sits alongside LINE's
To be clear up front: LINE's monthly fee and message fees go to LINE, and our platform fee is a separate thing. What our platform does is make that message spend go further and fill in what the console cannot do.
Our LINE OA platform comes in three tiers, monthly fee in USDT, no lock-in:
| Plan | Monthly fee | Official accounts | Friend cap | Focus |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $29 USDT | 1 | 5,000 | Rich Menu design, keyword auto-reply, basic funnel tracking |
| Growth | $79 USDT | 3 | 30,000 | Adds AI support agent, full 8-stage funnel tracking, segmented push |
| Professional | $199 USDT | 5 | Unlimited | Adds CRM contact management, API integration into your backend |
Where it actually saves you money:
- Segmented push picks recipients by tag and funnel stage, so the same campaign only goes to the people it applies to
- CRM contact management and 8-stage funnel tracking let tags accumulate on their own, with no manual tagging
- AI support agent and keyword auto-reply keep questions inside the free, responsive message types
- Rich Menu builder lets customers find answers by tapping, which cuts how often you need to push at all
The official account in your plan is registered under your own name, not parked under ours. Pausing it or moving it is your call. Full specs are at LINE OA platform, and you can run the numbers yourself with our pricing calculator.
FAQ
Is a LINE Official Account free? Opening one is free. The Light plan costs 0 per month and includes 200 free messages, with no add-on messages available. You only need to upgrade if you want to send more.
What does LINE OA cost besides the monthly fee? Only message fees. Broadcasts above the free allowance are charged separately, and only the High plan can buy add-on messages, tiered from 0.2 each. All published amounts are before tax.
What does 200 free messages mean? It means 200 deliveries, not 200 sends. With 200 friends, that is one broadcast to everyone per month.
Can I buy extra messages on the Medium plan? No. Neither Medium nor Light allows add-on messages. Sending more means upgrading to High. This is the single most overlooked point when picking a plan.
Should I be upgrading or downgrading right now? Work out friend count × expected broadcasts per month. Under 200, stay on Light. Under 3,000, Medium is worth considering. Over 3,000, or growing towards it, go straight to High, because Medium has no add-on messages. Make any change before 27 October.
